Coastal living is hard on skin. Sun damage builds up year after year — pigment spots, broken capillaries, redness, dullness. Most over-the-counter creams can't reach deep enough to touch it.
Broadband light treatment uses targeted light pulses to address pigment and vascular concerns at the source. The treatment lasts about 30 minutes. Most patients see initial pigment changes within 7–10 days. Multiple sessions are typically recommended for full results.
| Day | What you'll see |
|---|---|
| Day 1 | Mild warmth / pinkness immediately after treatment. Most patients return to work the same day. |
| Day 2–3 | "Coffee ground" effect — pigment may DARKEN before it flakes off. This is normal and expected. |
| Day 5–7 | Pigment flakes off naturally. Skin tone evens. |
| Day 14–30 | Vascular and underlying tone changes continue developing. |
| Day 30+ | Full visible result. Many patients book a second session at the 4–6 week mark for cumulative effect. |
Important: Broadband light requires sun avoidance for about 4 weeks pre and post-treatment (SPF 50+ daily, non-negotiable). Best season for the treatment: October through April.
If you have BOTH pigment and texture concerns, the Photofacial Plus combos broadband light with non-ablative laser. If you want a structured 90-day path, that's a different conversation.
We'll text you within one business hour to confirm a time. Free Photofacial Plus combo consult is included if you'd rather upgrade.
Mild snapping sensation (like a rubber band). Most patients tolerate it without numbing. We have topical numbing cream available if requested.
Most patients see meaningful improvement in 1 session. Three sessions over 3–4 months are typically recommended for full pigment + tone correction.
Initial pigment changes within 7–10 days. Full results crystallize at 4–6 weeks. Vascular changes (redness) typically take 2–3 sessions to fully respond.
We strongly recommend October–April. Sun avoidance pre and post-treatment is required.
Broadband light is a category of intense pulsed light treatment. Brand names refer to specific devices. The principle is the same.
Melasma requires careful candidacy assessment. Some Fitzpatrick types and active flares are contraindications. We'll screen at your consult.
Or schedule a free consult first if you're not sure. Either way, no pressure.
